قامت السفارة الهندية بدمشق بعقد اجتماع حول "فرص التجارة والأعمال في الهند" في 20 شباط 2024 في فندق غولدن مزة، دمشق. وكان السيد محمد أبو الهدى اللحام، رئيس اتحاد غرف التجارة السورية، الضيف المشارك، كما حضر الاجتماع عدداً من أعضاء الاتحاد ورجال أعمال سوريين بارزين من غرف التجارة والصناعة السورية في ريف دمشق وحلب واللاذقية وطرطوس ودرعا والقنيطرة والرقة.

بدأ الاجتماع بكلمة سعادة السفير الهندي لدى الجمهورية العربية السورية الدكتور إرشاد أحمد، والذي تحدث فيها عن البيئة العامة للتجارة والأعمال في الهند والتسهيلات والمحفزات المتاحة للمستثمرين الأجانب. تلا ذلك عرض فيديو قصير حول التقدم الذي حققته الهند في مجالات عديدة بما فيها الاقتصاد الرقمي وعلوم الفضاء والزراعة والطيران والنقل والرعاية الصحية.

وقد قام نائب رئيس اتحاد غرف التجارة السورية، رئيس غرفة تجارة وصناعة طرطوس، السيد مازن حماد بالتحدث خلال المناسبة باسم الاتحاد، وأشار إلى الاهتمام الكبير من قبل رجال الأعمال السوريين بالسوق الهندية. كما أكد على وجود مجال هائل لإمكانية توسيع أوجه التجارة بين الهند وسورية.

تبع ذلك جلسة أسئلة وأجوبة حيث قام خلالها السفير بالإجابة على اسئلة رجال الأعمال السوريين.

"Meeting on Trade and Business Opportunities in India"

The Indian Embassy in Damascus held a meeting on “Trade and Business Opportunities in India” on 20 February 2024 at Golden Mazzeh Hotel, Damascus. Mr. Muhammad Abu Al-Huda Al-Laham, President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, was the participating guest. A number of members of the Federation and prominent Syrian businessmen from the Syrian Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Damascus countryside, Aleppo, Latakia, Tartous, Daraa, Quneitra, and Raqqa also attended the meeting.

The meeting began with a speech by His Excellency the Indian Ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Irshad Ahmed, in which he spoke about the general environment for trade and business in India and the facilities and incentives available to foreign investors. This was followed by a short video presentation on India's progress in many areas including digital economy, space science, agriculture, aviation, transportation and healthcare.

The Vice President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, President of the Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Mazen Hammad, spoke during the occasion on behalf of the Federation, and pointed to the great interest of Syrian businessmen in the Indian market. He also stressed that there is huge scope for the possibility of expanding trade between India and Syria.

This was followed by a question-and-answer session, during which the ambassador answered questions from Syrian businessmen.
